The light weight Slim Bean ROM was carried to the HTC One X Smartphone. So, if you want to update this ROM to your smartphone then this guide will be useful for you.
It has a very low file size ranges from 50MB to 100MB. It has no software and it’s AOSP ROM is based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, so it will give you full stock android experience.
Moreover, it will give more speed due to that it is always recommended to update this ROM on your smartphone.
This tutorial is only for HTC One X smartphone so don’t try this on other models or variants. Check your model number by following the path Settings>About Phone.
The given below procedure is considered to be risky. So, follow this at your own risk. If anything happens wrong we would not be held responsible/liable for that.
First backup all your internal datas such as SMS, MMS, Contacts, Videos, Images, Files, Songs, APN Settings and MMS Settings
1.Make sure your device has minimum 75% battery power. If not so put it in the charge and wait until it reach the maximum level
2.Make sure the USB Debugging is enabled by following the path Settings>Applications>Development>USB Debugging. If it is not enabled you can’t transfer the files from computer to your HTC One X mobile.
3.Next uninstall all the antivirus and firewall softwares from both your computer and smartphone.
4.Since this is a custom ROM firmware, you need to check whether your HTC One X is rooted. Incase, if you are not sure, then download the root checker app from Google Play Store. If it is not rooted then go to this tutorial (How to root HTC One X) root your device then come back here.
5.Make sure the Clockwork Mod Recovery is installed on your HTC One X smartphone.
So, once you followed all the above mentioned points next head over to the procedure and start to install the Slim Bean ROM.
Procedure to update android 4.2.2 Slim Bean Build 3 ROM on HTC One X smartphone:
1.First download the Slim Bean Build 3 ROM from here to your computer.
2.Next copy the downloaded zip file to the SD card of the HTC One X smartphone.
3.Then turn off the android phone and reboot it into the recovery mode by holding down the power button and volume down buttons, you will enter into the bootloader mode, there select the recovery option to enter into the recovery mode.
4.Use the Volume keys and Power keys to select the recovery option. Once you entered into the recovery mode do a nandroid backup which backups the current ROM. For that, you need to select the “Backup and Restore” option then again select the “Backup” option. If anything goes wrong, you can easily get back your current ROM by using the nandroid backup.
5.After that download the Flash_Boot.zip to your computer, it will install the needed kernel.
6.Next unzip the above downloaded file into a folder.
7.Also download the Slim Bean Rom .zip file into the folder, you will get a file named boot.img, copy this file to the folder where you have unzipped the flash_boot.zip file in previous step.
8.Now, again turn off the phone and reboot into the bootloader mode by holding the volume down button and power button when your smartphone is entered into the bootloader mode.
9.There select the fastboot mode by using the Volume key and power key and allow your device to enter into the fastboot mode.
10.After that plug your android phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable.
11.Now, open the folder where you have unzipped the flash boot.zip file, there run the flash boot-windows.bat.
12.It will install all the necessary boot.img file. Once the installation process is over, the command window will close automatically or will show the message ok or finished.
13.After that press the power key to select the bootloader/hboot, there select the recovery option by using the power and volume keys to enter into the recovery mode.
14.Now, perform the wipe cache partition by selecting the “wipe data and factory reset” option and confirm the same on the next screen.
15.Then go to the main menu by selecting “Go Back” option.
16.Then again select “Install zip from SD card > Choose zip from SD card” option. Now select the downloaded .zip file which you have already placed on the SD card and confirm the installation process. Wait until the installation is complete.
17.Once the installation process is completed on your mobile, select the “Go Back” option after that again select the “Reboot the system Now” option to reboot the HTC One X smartphone.
That’s it! Now, you have successfully installed your Slim Bean Build3 ROM on the HTC One X smartphone. Congrats!
