How To Install Android Lollipop On Sony Xperia C

Sony Xperia C is a good quality Android smartphone, and a large number of people are using it. The only drawback with this device is that Sony doesn’t provide Android updates for this device. But, that won’t be a problem anymore as you can update your Xperia C smartphone to Lollipop (custom ROM). Just by following the guide to install Android Lollipop On Sony Xperia C given here, you will able to update your device to the latest Android version.

The Android Lollipop ROM is a custom ROM, and it comes with Lollipop Bootanimation, Keyboard, SystemUI, Xperia Launcher, Android Wallpapers, 14 different themes and a lot more things. I have updated my Sony Xperia C with this ROM, and I haven’t encountered any issues but if you encounter some issues, share it with us using the comment section given below.

Install Android Lollipop On Sony Xperia C


1) Before getting started with a ROM installation procedure, it is of utmost importance to take backup of personal data in your smartphone since all of them will get wiped out while carrying out the procedure. So, take a Nandroid backup and keep it somewhere safe.

2) Next, download Sony Xperia C USB drivers and install it in your computer. Only by doing so, you will be able to connect your smartphone with the computer successfully.

3) Make sure that you have enabled USB debugging mode in your smartphone. To do that, first you will need to enable Developer Options by following this path: Settings -> About Phone (tap on the build number for 5-7 times). Now to enable USB debugging mode, follow this path: Settings -> Developer Options -> USB Debugging.

4) Ensure that you have rooted your Sony Xperia C smartphone. If you don’t know how to do it, follow our guide to rooting Sony Xperia C. Also, make sure that you have installed CWM recovery in your Xperia C device. Again, if you don’t know the procedure, follow our guide to installing CWM recovery in Xperia C.

5) Next, make sure that your smartphone has at least 50-60% battery backup in it as the ROM installation process is a time-consuming one.

Once you have finished all these prerequisites, you can move forward with the main installation tutorial given below.

Tutorial To Install Android Lollipop On Sony Xperia C:

1) To get started, download Xperia C Lollipop ROM package and extract it to a folder in your computer (you will get three files: “[ROM]Lollipop_XperiaC_1{iSiddharth}.zip“, “[ROM]Lollipop_XperiaC_2{iSiddharth}.zip” and ““). Once done, connect your smartphone with the computer and transfer these three files to your device’s SD card.

2) Now, unplug your smartphone from the computer and switch it off. Once done, boot it into the CWM recovery mode by pressing the Power Button and Volume Up button simultaneously for few seconds.

3) Once you are in the recovery mode, click on Wipe Data/Factory Reset. One done, Wipe Cache and then Wipe Dalvik Cache.

4) Next, click on “Install” and select the “[ROM]Lollipop_XperiaC_1{iSiddharth}.zip” package from your SD card to begin the flashing process. Once it is over, reboot your device.

5) Now you will see the First Boot setup options (Language, Network setup, etc.). After setting it up, you will boot into your new Home-screen. Now, switch off your device again and boot into CWM recovery mode.

6) Once done, click on “Install” and select the “[ROM]Lollipop_XperiaC_2{iSiddharth}.zip” package to begin the flashing process. Once done, follow the same procedure and flash ““.

7) Once you have flashed all three files, reboot your device normally.

    Most of the ROMs that I find on other sites have problems with ‘back button’, opening settings, system bar and notification bar. So, is the ROM that you have shard here tested and is stable?

  4. I installed this ROM. This is not native Lollipop. This is just like a theme/launcher. This is still good.

    But can I get native Lollipop ROM for Xperia C?

  5. hi,can you help me to get out of hang problem because i have change the system using root and now it bricked. it can on but stuck on animation boot. i try to update software by with pc through cable,it stuck at 0%. the pc companion didn’t recognize. mtp device driver cannot be installed.
